We met one day in March last year
For coffee and a chat
Through an ad on the internet that you placed,
Do you remember that?

You wanted someone you could run with
And keep you company
You never found the perfect "one"
The "one" you found was me

It was at a time when you needed me
To make you feel brand new
It was a time in my life
When I needed someone too

We spent some wonderful afternoons
Talking and sharing and getting to know
How nice it was to be with you
To share our lives somehow

Things seemed to be just perfect
When we spent time together
I think that we needed just to be
Holding on to each other

Well, time is moving on for us
Afternoons to no longer spend
And lovers we can never be
But always stay my FRIEND
