Don't Go Away

I could write you a letter,
But what would I say?
Tell you I love you?
As I do every day.

How would you answer?
I love you too?
Or would you trash it,
Just what would you do?

We have enjoyed each other,
On line and on phone,
We kept each other company,
We were never alone.

We are miles apart,
Only heaven knows why,
This ache in my heart,
Says its time for goodbye.

Friends are forever,
Or so they say.
You taught me to laugh,
In your unselfish way.

Maybe someday we'll meet,
I hope and I pray,
Please answer my letter,
But don't go away.
